The Motorbike MOT Checklist
It’s that time again that the motorcycles MOT is due. It always feels like you’ve only just had it done. Where has the last 12 months gone? It is defiantly worth giving the motorbike the once over before you take it for its dreaded annual MOT. You may be able to do some jobs yourself and save a few shillings at the same time. No one likes the thought of the motorbike failing its MOT, the extra cost of getting the motorbike roadworthy and road legal and sometimes the wait for replacement parts.
We all acknowledge the saying “it passed the first time and with no advisories” and welcomed the fact you have a great bike. The MOT tester will have a list from the Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency that they follow.
The following list shows you what they are looking for when they inspect your motorbike. Use the list to check yourself where possible before the MOT test.
