We Want Your Yamaha Tenere
The Yamaha Tenere 700 has been produced by Yamaha since 2019 and is the successor to the XT660Z Tenere. The 700 is a midsized adventure duel sport motorcycle. The range was first named Tenere after the Tenere stage of the Dakar Rally.
It has a 689cc power plant that is a liquid-cooled DOHC parallel-twin engine and is the same engine that is used in the already proven MT07 and the Tracer 700. The power produced from the engine is a suitable 72bhp that is more than ample for this sized motorbike. The Tenere has a gearbox, six-speed, that incorporates a wet clutch that drives the rear chain. The Tenere has spoked wheels, a 21-inch wheel on the front and an 18 inch on the rear, ideal for off-road use.
The Yamaha Tenere 700 is fitted with Brembo disk brakes all round. Upside down front forks and Mono-shock rear suspension unit that has 8 inches of travel. The seat height of 880mm keeps the rider a good away from the dirt but is low enough for the average-sized rider to sit comfortably and still touch the floor when stationary. The motorbike weighs in at just over 200kg, and the weight is well distributed over the bike, a good centre of balance, that will help you keep the motorbike upright, especially when off the road, if you were unfortunate to fall off it, you would stand a good chance of getting the bike back upright without staring to many muscles.
