First produced in 2013 the Yamaha MT-09 was a replacement for the Fazer 8. The main competitors for this model are the Kawasaki Z900, Suzuki GSX 750 and the Triumph street triple. Powered by a 3-cylinder 847 cc liquid-cooled engine that is capable of producing 115 bhp, with 64.5 foot-pound to the rear wheel and a respectable 145mph on the open road. Classed as a middleweight naked bike, the MT 09 was one of Europe's best-selling motorcycles when it was first launched.
Yamaha fitted the lightweight bike with a low seat for every type of rider, whether it was taking you to work or a weekend trip away to the coast. The bike appeared to be great value for money at a brand new price of a smidge over £7.5k.
The MT-09 has 298mm diameter twin discs with four-piston monobloc callipers, and a rear disk 245mm single disk with a single piston. Average fuel consumption is roughly 48 mpg and a tank range of about 200 miles.
