Ranked number 7 in Motorcycle Industry Association most popular or best-selling bike in the UK. The Z10000SX has been around for a decade. Successful updates since it was introduced in 2010 has kept it in the top 10 selling bikes. With a starting price of just over £10k making this super sports tourer is brilliant value.
The SX is powered by a 1043cc four inline liquid-cooled engine that produces a respectable 140 bhp at 10,000 rpm with maximum torque at 7500 rpm. The SX achieves a healthy 45 mpg with a tank range of around 190 miles.
Features include Cornering ABS Dual 300mm four-piston front disks, adjustable rear shock 144mm travel, traction control, slipper clutch and a 6-speed box with gear indicator.
2020 - Z1000 Updates
From 2020 the fourth generation of the SX has now got even better with some much need updates that keep this bike in the top 10. With cleaner emissions but giving the same performance as the earlier models. They have reduced weight by changing to a single-sided exhaust. I owned a 2017 SX and enjoyed every minute I rode it but felt it needed cruise control for long distance riding.
The new SX has a more comfortable seat, quick shifter, electronic cruise control (finally!), and a 21st centrury 10.9 cm TFT screen with smartphone connectivity.
Accessories The Vario panniers pop on and off simply with no fuss. Expanding out, giving an extra nine litters per side with the same key coded locks that match the ignition. Heated grips, low seat, Akrapovic Carbon slip-ons, not forgetting GPS bracket and 12v socket.

Kawasaki introduced three blank canvas versions of the SX. First, you have the performance model designed with its sporty looks and fitted with twin Akrapovic exhausts as standard.
The SX Tourer comes with panniers and is ready to go where ever the mood takes you.
Then there is the combination of the first two, The Z1000SX Performance tourer. Priced at £11299 and comes with the sports exhaust and the touring pack, a go-anywhere any time and sound great too.
The range comes in three colour schemes. You have a hard choice to make as all the colour schemes complement the machine perfectly. The most popular colour you will see out and about are Green and Grey. The Black and Grey is the next you will see a lot of followed by the Blue and Grey.
