We Want Your BMW R NINE

BMW have produced the R Nine T since 2014 and it is a popular Standard motorcycle. The R Nine T is Retro in style and well sought after, and many customizers use the R Nine T as a basis for their creations. The motorbike can be easily modified because of its engineering design. The wiring harnesses for the engine and chassis are separate, with fewer fixings than usual that holding the sub frame, headlights and tail lights.

The BMW R Nine T has an 1170 cc flat-twin boxer engine that is air and oil-cooled. The machine is rated at 110hp at 7600 revs per minute. It unusually uses a dry clutch; dry clutches are known for producing more power to the back wheel as a wet clutch would have oil drag within the clutch. The R Nine T has a claw shifted six-speed gearbox that drives the final shaft drive. This model has disc brakes all round and cool looking spoked wheels. ABS was standard from 2014 when the model was first introduced.

The flat-twin engine can push the machine to over 125 mph and has been recorded to reach from nought to sixty mph in just 3.1 seconds. The R Nine T uses unleaded petrol and has recorded an average of 48mpg fuel consumption. As the seat height on the base model is quite modestly low at 780mm from the floor, the motorbike can suit most riders and enables them to flat foot when a standstill. The controls are minimal, and the speedo looks as though it was designed in the late 70s. When fully loaded, the motorcycle weighs in at 221kg, but it feels a lot lighter due to being well balanced. It is precisely what you would expect from the premium brand BMW.
